Alex Albon is collaborating with his home government on the initiative to bring Formula 1 to Bangkok, revealing details about the envisaged Thailand Grand Prix plans. Albon expressed optimism, anticipating the inclusion of a home grand prix on the Formula 1 calendar in the near future. Thailand is notably advancing towards this goal, with Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali having already visited the country. Despite recent uncertainties surrounding Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, who faced public backlash over leaked communications, Thailand remains committed to the ambitious $1.2 billion bid approved by the cabinet to host F1 in its capital city by 2028. Albon’s involvement highlights the country’s enthusiasm for the project, aiming to leverage F1 to enhance tourism and economic growth, showcasing dedicated efforts and promising plans. The proposed circuit, located away from central Bangkok to mitigate traffic challenges, promises a more unique and character-rich design, setting it apart from conventional street tracks, aligning with Thailand’s strategic vision for the event.
